You've just finished shooting and editing your latest video project. You've trimmed it, tweaked it, tuned it and it’s done. Perfect. The client loves it! A High Def masterpiece. Here’s the challenge… until now, all of your projects have been delivered in standard definition on tape or DVD. This time it's gotta be HD. Are you ready?
Though this may all be relatively new to you, your client expects you to be the expert. Maybe all they know is "HD is better", and, as usual, it's your job to give them what they really need despite what they say they think they want.
Among the many possibilities for delivery: Blu-Ray, HD tape, a digital file on a hard drive. Does your client want to put it on their website as QuickTime H.264, Windows Media, or Flash? Do they plan to project the HD video at their trade show or convention? What are your best options and how are you going to exercise them? Should you buy the equipment to author and create BluRay discs? What are the costs and licensing considerations? Might it make sense to take your project to a third-party service bureau such as Digital Outpost (this meeting’s location)? And, if so, what is the cost and process for making that happen?
If delivering in HD is your problem, then this meeting offers you the solution. With presentations by Brian Douglass from Digital Outpost, Rob Brambila from ProMax, and David Scovel from Multimedia Production Group, this promises to be a very informative meeting!
As President of digital OutPost, Brian has a broad understanding of multimedia production, new technology and sales. Brian has over 20 years experience in the broadcast and multimedia industry and possesses a strong technical knowledge of traditional broadcast media as well as digital production. Prior to owning digital OutPost, Douglass has been a professional photographer, a chief video engineer at a broadcast rental company and was the director of video production for a worldwide telecommunications corporation. He is an accomplished broadcast engineer and videographer and has a BA in Telecommunications.
Rob is the Technical Director at ProMAX Systems. ProMAX has been providing digital media solutions since 1994. He is also a Freelance Engineer, and Owner/ Operator at MINUS|one Productions.
David is a Video/Technical Systems Specialist at Multimedia Production Group, a nationally recognized provider of quality audio-visual production services and equipment for event producers, corporate and association meeting planners worldwide.
TV Magic will be making a presentation in our Vendor's Corner this month with some cool stuff for us to see.
Join us on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009, as we explore the many aspects of delivering HD content for your clients!
