Stacey Parks of Film Specific will discuss Distribution 2.0 Possibilities:
We all know that the big picture of distribution includes traditional means like theatrical, broadcast, and DVD distribution...but what about all the new platforms that exist within the Distribution 2.0 realm? There are so many new and exciting possibilities for independent producers to get their films and videos out there in front of audiences, but which ones should you focus on? Which ones have actual revenue potential? And what do you need to do to make it all work out? Come learn how to become successful with Distribution 2.0 and change the way you look at distribution forever!
About Stacey:
Stacey Parks is an expert in the area of Film & TV distribution, with over 15 years experience working with independent film producers. As a Foreign Sales Agent since 2001, she has secured distribution for hundreds of independent features and programs worldwide.
Stacey wrote the book "The Insider's Guide To Independent Film Distribution," considered to be an essential handbook for independent filmmakers seeking production and distribution insight for their films. Simultaneously, she launched filmspecific.com, a website dedicated to educating filmmakers about independent film financing, distribution, & marketing. Since it's launch, FilmSpecific.com has been named by Moviemaker Magazine "one of the 50 best websites for moviemakers", and "one of the top 25 websites that filmmakers need to know about."
Stacey is also a frequent contributor to Digital Production Buzz. Stacey's appearance is sponsored by Groovy Like a Movie and their new stock footage company, stockr3d.com
The Brothers Winn will present their True-Life Experience with Distribution 2.0:
The Internet is the place where the little guy can self-distribute and make big money, right? But when you try to pin down anyone who says they make money in online media, more often than not they are evasive or vague. People say they are making money, but they don't want to talk about how much they make or how they made it. In this presentation, The Brothers Winn do what no other Internet distributor does - open up their books and show the lessons learned and the painful details of monetizing their almost 3-year-old podcast. It's a roller coaster ride of success and failure that takes an honest look at what they tried, where they made money, and where they didn't. Come watch 30 comedic minutes of triumph and disaster that the Orange County MCA-I attendees called "informative," "insightful," and "as good as any standup act."
About the Brothers Winn:
After working together in various industries and capacities, The Brothers Winn (Jedd and Brett) decided to form a media company, Titan Arts, LLC. As a personal challenge to prove that education and entertainment are not oxymorons - and because every media company needs something to show besides a collection of business training videos - the Brothers launched a podcast called the WhatYouOughtToKnow show in September of 2007. Jedd is the camera guy and editor. Brett runs the business and talks at the camera. Both brothers contribute to script writing and researching the show.
Raffle prizes will be provided by both Stacey Parks and the Brothers Winn!
The meeting will take place in the event auditorium at the brand new VisionPulse Creative Executive Office Suites (CEOs) in Sorrento Mesa. Conference rooms, event auditorium, and office suites for groups of 2 to 200 for as low as $8 per hour with no long term lease commitments. Full catering kitchen and creative services are available, and the event auditorium can be used as a video or photo studio."
