Volunteers have made the Media Communications Association-International the successful professional organization that it is today. The MCA-I International Shining Star and MCA-I Chapter Shining Star programs recognize our special volunteers that give freely of their time and talents to MCA-I.
International Shining Star
The MCA-I International Shining Star program recognizes chapter leaders who have made significant contributions to the chapter. They standout above all of the rest of the members, demonstrating service to their MCA-I chapter without regard to personal gain or profit. The nominations are submitted to our International Executive Director and reviewed by the International Membership Committee and the International President. Each chapter may submit a maximum of two nominations during a calendar year. Download and nominate a Shining Star today! Awards will be given in conjunction with the MCA-I Media Festival and Awards Ceremony.
International Examples: The chapter Treasurer who corrected the books after several years of neglect; the project leader or committee chair who successfully lead a major chapter project, such as the media festival, redesign or the chapter website, produced a PSA using volunteers, led a chapter related community outreach program, or led a chapter membership drive.

The Chapter Shining Star
The MCA-I Chapter Shining Star program recognizes chapter members who have gone above and beyond for the chapter. The nominations are submitted to the Chapter President and will be reviewed by the chapter board or leadership team. Amount of nominations submitted per calendar year are up to the discretion of the chapter leaders.
Give Shining Star Awards at special events or even the monthly meetings. Presenting these honors in front of a group of peers showcases the special efforts your members make to the chapter. They deserve it!
Chapter Examples: The member who took the time to make you feel comfortable at your first meeting; the woman who gave up a Saturday afternoon to help stuff membership packets; the man who volunteered to make MCA-I posters for display at a conference; or the sponsor that always comes through for the chapter.
We encourage both national and chapter leaders to recognize MCA-I members who display the MCA-I Shining Star spirit. Simply fill out the nomination form and follow the directions on how to submit. (Download PDF forms at the bottom of the page.)
And don't forget to let the International Office know if you've presented an award so we can be sure to include it in the next issue of Connect. Send a email with your completed nomination form and a photo to membership@mca-i.org.
