President: Gary Shifflet (Detroit Chapter)
"As we enter a new decade of MCA-I, I am thrilled to be at the helm of what I hope will be a revolutionary period of growth and success for the organization. I feel that the new influx of young, enthusiastic Board and Committee Members that we continue to recruit from the local Chapters, will provide us the base of a long term stream of leaders that will carry us for many years."
President Elect: Steve King (At Large, New Zealand)
"One of my goals as a Board Member of MCA-I is to focus on providing increased value and relevance to 'international' International members. Additionally, I would like to work towards more e-learning opportunities for all members - including members remote from a local chapter, and more member benefits available to offshore members. Again online is easiest such as free/discounted subscription to web services and video hosting, and member-only viewing of Golden Reel winners. I am excited by the prospect of working closely with a dynamic and passionate incoming President to build on the success of the current board and Leadership."
Secretary: Jim Powell (Atlanta Chapter)
"MCA-I has been and is an integral part of my life and business….even to the degree that I can conservatively say that if it wasn’t for its predecessor, ITVA, and as now, MCA-I, I would not have the success and direction that I have today. There’s an important reason, not just that this organization of professionals receives great benefits from the membership offerings but something more important. The management and personal training, advance state-of-the-art technology knowledge, and connections that I have made and gathered by being in leadership roles both local and national since 1988, has brought me success through application of principles learned and advantages brought to me."
Treasurer: Mike Brown (Milwaukee Chapter) "I’m excited to hold the office of MCA-I Treasure this year and pledge to take a "hands-on" role. I believe our Associations financial accountability is of the utmost importance to our future as a non-profit association, and will work with Lois Weiland, our Executive Director to control and account for our finances."
Past President: Lee Vogel (Kansas City Chapter) "This will be a building year for the association. I look forward to thinking "outside the box" to generate new benefits and advantages of MCA-I membership. It's a great time to be involved!"
Board of Directors
Erin Fergusson (Madison Chapter)
"Participation is the key to success for MCA-I to move forward in re-establishing the strength of the association. I am an advocate of the Chapter-run theory of operation and my goals include the recruitment of committee members from each of the Chapters to help run the organization and bring fresh ideas to the BOD."
Raegan Matthews (San Diego Chapter) “I look forward to the opportunity to serve as a Member at Large on the BOD for MCA-I in 2010. The organization is facing a lot of changes in the next few years and I feel with my prior leadership and committee experience, I can contribute to the future of the organization. I very much look forward to the challenge!”
Dwayne Teskey (At Large Canada)
"I think that it is very important for media professionals to have an organization such as this. Not only to network with each other, but to keep all media production to the high standards that our clients expect. This encourages not only personal and client satisfaction, but cultivates repeat business. I envision an association that keeps raising the bar on quality by its own members. When a member has the MCA-I logo, a client knows that they are working with a real professional."
John Coleman (Orange County/LA Chapter)
"I'm really proud to have been serving on the international board at a time when we were clawing our way back from one of the lowest points in our history--and pleased that I could contribute to our rebirth along with a lot of dedicated members from all over the world. I plan on continuing to be a voice for modernization and more virtualization of our organization. As well as strengthing chapters I want to see our At-Large members have a greater impact."
Peter O'Connell (At Large, Buffalo NY) "As a freshman board member and member at large in 2009, it was an exciting time to be a part of the MCA-I leadership, to say the least. As I again chair the Membership Committee for MCA-I, our main goals are focused on establishing a Membership Chairperson within each MCA-I Chapter and maintaining pro-active communication between the board and chapter leaders through our MCA-I Liaisons program."
Donata Renfrow (Atlanta Chapter) "I'm excited to have been a part of the board that helped transition MCA-I to a group that's primarily managed by volunteer energy! this year we can turn our attention to more ways to expand our mission and increase member involvement."
