This month marks the completion of twenty years in business for WACONDA Media Productions. Originally founded, in 1990, as Lee Vogel Component Editing the company has grown from providing exclusively editing services to corporations and individual producers to being a full-service content developer specializing in wildlife conservation education.

“Demand for corporate video began to wane in the early 2000s,” says company founder, Lee Vogel. “As my clients started to reduce production budgets, I realized it presented me the opportunity to grow in an area that’s locally underserved – wildlife conservation education.”

In 2001, Vogel was hired as a contract field producer for the Missouri Department of Conservation. While taking care of his remaining corporate clients, he wrote and directed segments of the “Missouri Outdoors” television program. Making the transition to outdoor media production was an easy process. As a seasoned hunter education instructor and an avid duck hunter with more than 200 acres of fertile hunting grounds in west Missouri, Vogel understands the importance of conservation, land management and the appreciation of the great outdoors.

Through proper management of his fields and creek bottom, he has created an environment that provides active grounds for local wildlife to flourish. Through WACONDA Media Productions, Vogel continues to produce programming for the Missouri Department of Conservation. Additionally, the company is currently producing a documentary focused on various wildlife issues around the Kansas City area. ###
