Bill Bork of Lens Flair Wins "Best Cinematography" Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

San Diego- For the third time in four years, MCA-I member Bill Bork won the award for Best Cinematography at the 48 Hour Film Project San Diego.

With 51 films in the competition, this year’s films were better than ever, and with all the advances in image acquisition, the teams involved turned in some beautiful images. Bill’s work on ‘The Fatal Heir’, from the group AMALGAMATED GROMMETS, captured the mystique and intrigue of a 1940’s film noir detective story, and swayed the judges in his favor.  Michael Brueggemeyer, director of the film, referred to Bill’s cinematography as ‘Breathtaking.  Remarkable in its accuracy to the genre, while capturing the beauty of the locations and the talent.'

'The look of
the film transports you to a different era, and because it is a 48-hour film, where we have to start the script on Friday evening and turn in the edited film on Sunday evening, the accomplishment is so much greater.’  Michael Towe, owner of M2 Digital Post and an MCA-I member as well, commented on Bill’s work. ‘I think that when it comes to the look of a film the zenith of what you can achieve is to be able to take any frame from that film and be able to frame it and hang it on the wall as art. In this case Bill and crew achieved it.’

The film also won awards for Best Acting Ensemble, Best Director, Audience Award-Screening group D, and won the top honors of 48 Hour Film Project Best Film of San Diego 2010.  The film can be seen on Youtube.com.
