MEDIA CRAFT TRACK


Creating media is an art as well as a science. In the MEDIA CRAFT track, you’ll learn how to use new techniques to keep your projects fresh and compelling – and how to harness the latest cost-effective tools and formats.  

Long Format Documentary Programs: A Case Study (1 hour) 
Whether you’re creating a long format documentary or a short corporate video, many of the development strategies and production processes are the same. Follow the production of the documentary My Vietnam Your Iraq and learn about the development process, acquiring stock footage, rights, production and post-production strategies. Sample clips will be shown throughout the session.

HD for Filmmakers (2 hours)
Learn how to deliver the richness of film – on a limited budget. High Definition (HD) and Digital Intermediate (DI) workflows can result in huge cost savings – without sacrificing quality or color accuracy. Discover how HD formats and new cross platform Adobe® Production Premium software will help you produce cost-efficient, future-proofed projects. A breakdown of the latest HDV formats and cameras will be included.

Move That Thing! (1 hour)
It's the same story: low budget and high expectations. So how can you "over deliver" and wow your customer? Just move that thing! Our presenter specializes in camera rigging and support equipment and will show you how to achieve big production value by adding a piece or pieces of equipment to the camera.

HD Acquisition & Emerging Tapeless Workflows (2 hours)
Choosing a video format used to be easy when the workflow was known and comfortable. But today there are more choices than ever and completely new workflows are emerging. Our seminar leader will demonstrate various techniques using Photoshop® as the core application, plus numerous plug-ins and filters incorporating elements from Bryce 3D, Illustrator®, and the ArtMatic modular graphic synthesizer.
